Villas Corcovado is sited at sea level, with an average temperature of 26C (80F), and is tempered by light coastal breezes. Humidity tends to be high.
What is the nearest town?
The nearest town to Villas Corcovado is Puerto Jimenez. Puerto Jimenez is the gateway to Osa and the nearest location to Rio Nuevo (25 minutes away), situated on the harbor facing the Golfo Dulce in southern Costa Rica. It was known in the past for gold mining, which created an increased settlement. This particular characteristic, as well as a logging industry made Puerto Jimenez an important small town with easy access.
How far is Hotel Villas Corcovado from the nearest local Airport?
From Puerto Jimenez Airport, is a 45 minutes by ground transfer or 35 minutes by boat ride.
What should I pack?
• Two of the most important things to bring to Costa Rica are a pair of BINOCULARS and a field guide (we recommend "Birds of Costa Rica"). They are a must for getting a closer look at wildlife.
• Sunscreen and insect repellent.
• Casual clothing for city traveling.
• Long and short sleeved shirts, cotton or light synthetic.
• A lot of cotton or light synthetic pants (Jeans not recommended b/c they are slow to dry, if you would like bring a pair for horseback riding).
• Hiking shorts.
• Footwear: waterproof light-weight hiking shoes, river sandals (Teva-type sandals), tennis shoes/running shoes. Make sure you bring TWO pairs of shoes. One pair for getting wet, and the other to stay dry. Go to any length to keep the other pair dry!
• Hat(s) with visor for rain and sun protection and bandannas.
• Plastic water bottle, especially for hike.
• Camera and film.
• Swimwear
• Plastic garbage bags for wet items.
• Collapsible luggage to store extra items in San José.
Are there places to surf nearby?
There are great places near by: Matapalo, approximate 1 hour and 40 minutes by ground transfer, or 1.20 by boat water transfer, Backwash, i 1 hour and 40 minutes by ground transfer, or 1hour and 20 minutes by a boat water transfer and Pan Dulce also about 1 hour and 30 minutes drive .
We can organized a surfing day, departing from the hotel, with lunch included.
Is Villas Corcovado recommend for children?
Villas Corcovado is a rainforest retreat, and welcomes families with youngsters 12 years old and over. Villas Corcovado is not recommended for small children.

No, you may exchange traveler’s checks and us dollars for local currency at the front desk. The nearest bank is located at the town of Puerto Jimenez.
